Before working on the concept forming, several ideas were collected to suggest solutions of participant's problem.
In this mindmap, the brainstroming process are presented.

Concept 1

This was the fist concept that was made. The concept had an opening on the palm of the glove. This made sure that the participant could see where the holes of the fingers were. Everything in the glove could be closed with Velcro.
Pros about concept 1:
You can see where you have to put your fingers
Can be opened and closed with Velcro
Cons about concept 1:
You can not prevent your fingers from curling up because you cant force them against the table.
Because of that still a bid hard to put on

This concept was created together with our participant. We were in a meeting with her and she came up with this idea. The idea is that the glove can be opened on the top part of her hand so that’s different from concept one and in this concept you have one stroke that needs to be opened and closed.
Pros about concept 2
Can be opened and closed using Velcro
Is opened on the frond part of the gloves which makes sure that the participant can lay her hand flat on the table.
Cons about concept 2
Hard to see the right holes in the glove
Fingers can still go in the wrong finger hole

Concept 3

This concept has the same idea as the first concept but now it has the opening part on the frond of the glove. This way the con about the first clove is gone so this one is an improved version of the first one.
Pros about concept 3
Easy to open and close using Velcro
The fingerholes can clearly be seen when opening the glove
The hand of the participant can lay down on the table, which helps flatten her hand
Cons about concept 3
Does not close that well so there is still wind coming inside the glove

This is the final concept. It looks a lot like concept three it only has a little bid more fabric. In this way its better closed when the participant uses the glove. Above of that there are more Velcro parts so that its better closed. By doing this all the cons from previous concepts are solved!
Pros about final concept
Can be easily opened and closed with Velcro
Is better closed due to the extra Velcro straps
Is better closed due to the extra fabric
The finger holes can be seen clearly when opening the glove
The hand of the participant can be forced against the table which makes sure that it will be easier to put the gloves on

Concept 5
Additional Part
Concept board: Text
This concept isn't about the gloves anymore. This is about the mechanism that attaches the gloves to the steering wheel. The mechanism itself has two parts, one part that is attached to the steering wheel and the other part is attached to the glove. It is a sliding mechanism, the part that is attached to the glove should slide into the part that’s on the steering wheel. The part that is attached to the glove is positioned on the side of the glove where your little finger is.

Concept board: Pro Gallery
The first idea was that the part on the glove was on the palm of the glove, but we concluded that it would be hard for our participant to use it in that way because you cannot see what you are doing and since our participant has no feeling in her hand it would be very difficult to slide it in the right position. That’s why the choice is made to put the part on the side of the glove.

However, the first mock-up of the sliding mechanism is too big. Therefore for the final product a smaller version is needed. It also needs a way to be attached to the steering wheel, this will be done with tie wraps so it is removable. And also the knob has a flat end so the snap fastener can be glued to it.
After that, we had to think about the safety of our participant, because your hand fixed to a steering wheel is not ideal and safe. We came up with a solution which made sure that we could still use the sliding mechanism. The idea is to use the same button as the button in the picture. This button is there for the safety of the participant. The small part of the sliding mechanism is attached to the glove with this button. So that when the participant is using the steering wheel and there happens something, the glove will get loss of the steering wheel easily with a little bit of force.
