User Study Test

User Study Test Plan: Text

From the first meeting with our participant, their needs and hopes were clearly stated, highlighting the large levels of inconvenience that they experience when using their current products and the context in which they use these.

From that moment on, we focused our design process mainly on attitudinal and qualitative user experience research methods, like participatory design and user interviews. From these we obtained valuable information which permitted us to create our first prototype and subsequent iterations.

In each step of the design process, we resolved the observations and concerns that our participant expressed, looking to anticipate difficulties or further complexities that could arise with the design changes. The self-awareness of our participant was really helpful, as they understood what movements and positions would be more helpful and efficient for the process of putting on the glove. Although no quantitative tests were carried out during the first prototypes, this method of participatory design and feedback ensured that we received the qualitative information needed to further develop the product.

For the final user test plan, we are mainly focusing on the efficiency, effectiveness and operability of our product. Although other factors like satisfaction and context of use will be taken into consideration, they will be playing a smaller role, as our participant has already expressed higher levels of satisfaction with our prototypes than with the already existing alternatives. As a result, we will be implementing tools like usability scales with questions focusing on the topics previously mentioned.
